Jewel of the Crown
Apricot/Grape Blend
Our apricot and white wine blend is similar to a Riesling. It opens with the richer, heavier aroma and taste of the apricot. The citrusy flavor gives it a clean, bright finish. 12% Alc./Vol.
Our 2011 Signature Wine
From the back label: The Jewel of the Crown is the centerpiece, the most admired part, according to the idiom. In families, sisters can be considered the jewel of the crown. Throughout the years, many sisters have been part of the history of the building now known as The Winery at Marjim Manor. Sisters Phoebe Sophia and Cordelia Merritt lived in the house in the 1800's. In 1933, the Sisters of St. Joseph bought the house to use as a summer retreat.
Today, the Bittner family has added its jewel to the crown. In 2010, the family lost middle sister Diane at a young age. Her kindness and laughter are part of the fabric of the family. Jewel of the Crown is dedicated to her memory that it will always be a blessing.
